Diet: carrion (prefer recently dead animals)
Distribution: South America to all the way to the top of America (Northern US will migrate to the south)
This bird?s name is due to the similar look of the head to a wild turkey. They are an essential part of the ecosystem. These birds are a part of the clean up crew that helps get rid of carrion of animals of all shapes and sizes. These birds fly very gracefully up in the air. They will do a mixture of static soaring of flapping its wings regularly and using thermals to stay aloft. They can find their food by using their great sense of smell to find it.
Males and females look alike, but the female is slightly bigger than the male.
