Description
The cannon beast is a weapon often used in pre-medieval times. It was discovered that their spit violently explodes on contact with fire, and even in it?s own was poisonous and sticky. The creatures were actually easy to tame too, so people used these as a method of war. The first to use them were the barbarians, which ultimately helped them bring down the roman empire.
So, how did they get the spit to explode? They fire burning arrows or throw burning javelins at them. The system was slightly inefficient, but it worked, and the spit was actually stronger than a cannon shell. However, when cannons came into play, they seemed useless, until it was found cannon and gunfire could set off the spit in large chain reactions. Castles fell even more easily then with cannons alone. However, as more modern war methods were discovered, they were hard to keep on the battlefield, as they are actually fairly fragile, and would easily die to a single pistol shot. In the end, they ended up as pets and guard dogs for the rich. As expected, the keep the burglars out quite nicely.
