Screams emanate from the burning villages, I try everything to help put out the fires, but it ends in failure. My family and friends all dead because of me. I should have listened to them and not go to the forbidden forest. But alas, my curiosity got the better of me. If only I could do something to bring them back just anything?
I awaken drenched in sweat. It was just a dream. I lift my head up and look around?no it was not a dream. I see the life less bodies scattered around, there eyes showing the fear they once had. I try to look away but I can?t. My eyes begin locking onto theirs. Huh? I think I saw one of them blink. I must be crazy. There it goes again, I walk up to the dead body and tap it with my foot. The body jerks to the side and begins shaking violently.
I jump back and begin running in the other direction. Suddenly all the bodies begin shaking and standing up. I try screaming but no sound comes out. I can only freeze in panic, as the bodies begin moving towards me. They grab me with their burnt bloody hands and begin dragging me away. I try to pull free but they are all too strong for me. Where are they taking me, I wonder.
It seems like hours before we stop. They throw me to the ground and stare at me with their glowing red eyes. I look away only to gaze into more eyes. There are so many of them, did I really hurt all of these dragons. Yes I have. The bodies begin moving away from me, what is going on?
A large shadow moves towards me. It smiles a big toothy grin. I shake in terror, as he gets closer and closer. He reaches out with his hand and grabs my arm. I scream out in pain, as my arm begins feeling a burning sensation. The burning flows through out my body, until it?s every where. Everything turns red and then fades to black..
I awaken only to find myself in a place of darkness. Every where I look is black. No sign of color or life anywhere. I feel alone. Suddenly a huge fire appears in front of me and screams begin shrieking in my ears. It lasts for eternities, I am cursed to watch all these lives be taken away because of my mistake. Years pass and it?s still the same thing, me watching dragons burn.
For some reason I?m not in darkness anymore, I?m in some forest. I walk around then appear back in my old village. I call out for my friends, but there is no response. This is strange, there is no one at all. I don?t hear any sounds either, not even any birds chirping. I wander the village until I reach a small fire. It was only a few sticks so I decided to stomp it out. Bad idea, the fire grows until it has surrounded me. It gets so hot, and the air seems to just disappear. I gasp for breath but there is none. The fire moves closer until it touches me. Pain shoots through my body. Fire envelopes me I call out for help, only to here laughing as a response.
I see the faces of all my family and friends and even some dragons I had never met. All of them grinning and laughing as I burn. The burning continues and for some reason it doesn?t hurt anymore. I stop screaming and just lay still. Letting the last of the fire go out. They all move closer to me still laughing, and begin to turn into shadows. The shadows rush to me and go inside my body. The pain is unbearable.
I am back in darkness. And I realize how bad it was for all those dragons when they burned. I no longer feel the burning but am still in pain. I lay on the ground, and rest. Only to awaken back in the village once again to go through the same burning ritual with all those faces watching.
