Description
A fierce apex predator, the Great Dragonfrog strikes fear into almost any creature living near the mountain ranges of central Odin.
The Great Dragonfrogs live in family groups up to around 20 animals including young.
The dominant animal, which can be either male or female, is the one that provides food for the family.
They tend to hunt larger animals to ensure dominance. Although rarely, adult Odintherium are sometimes killed by the largest of Dragonfrogs.
Perched on grassy plateaus on the cliffsides, a Great Dragonfrog keeps a close watch on lone carnivores that just made a fresh kill.
There, the Great Dragonfrog sees an adult Odintherium with freshly killed prey!
She springs into action and leaps off the cliffside.
The Great Dragonfrog glides towards the mighty carnivore with its freshly killed prey. Once she is in perfect position, unbeknownst to the Odintherium, the Great Dragonfrog begins her rapid descent towards her prey only to spread her wing-like limbs at the right moment. With pinpoint accuracy, the Great Dragonfrog lands on her prey's back and injects a highly lethal neurotoxic venom directly into the neck. Not only does this cause incredible pain, but it also causes paralysis within a minute.
This way, the Great Dragonfrog has two birds in one stone! The carnivore and its prey. Naturally, other Dragonfrogs see this and also come gliding down to join the feast.
The Great Dragonfrog is one of the largest predators on Odin, reaching a size of almost 6 meters long and a wingspan of over 10 meters.
It is not a true flying animal, they are however great at gliding huge distances.
Walking is not really their strong suit and it is a funny sight to see them lumbering back to the grassy plateaus where they breed.
This does not mean they are defenseless on the ground. They do have powerful legs that can dish out nasty kicks. Not to mention the neurotoxic venom which can be spit should the need arise...
