Description

Dismissively nicknamed "Technoshells" by much of the galaxy, the Magistratus is a unified collective of omni-cyberlinked artificial lifeforms called the Metapax. Not much is known of their society or even where their home planet is located but they have a massive presence and are able to project their power across wide swaths of the galaxy. While diplomacy has worked on many occasions, the Magistratus as a whole do seem dedicated to conquest. Their military and technology is extremely efficient, allowing them to fulfill this goal with ease. Not only that, but they are also extremely efficient with their processing of raw materials as they construct some of the largest ships ever seen in the galaxy. Their ships are fully autonomous entities but are still built with interiors for Metapax crews if the need for one arises. Though crews, plural, is not totally accurate, as a single Technoshell can replicate itself an undetermined number of sentient copies.

While the Metapax thenselves are capable of autonomous actions, they are programmed to follow the Conglomerate, a pool of specialized hyper-advanced artificial intelligences. The Conglomerate dictate and deliver all necessary directives to the individual Metapax agents. So far, not much of their language has been deciphered besides a handful of intercepted mission orders to their larger ships, and even still, they are picked up in a form closely resembling GC-3 universal numeric binary, so not even those are fully comprehensive. While there have only been a few sightings in the Orion spiral, humanity is already hard at work developing a weapon to fight what may be the potential threat. Humanity's experience fighting the StarCon AI with the PaxxaCore Virus being a huge boon to their efforts.
