One more thought: personally, I like stories where you can sympathize with all of the characters/factions to some extent, or at least understand where they are coming from, rather than straightforward "GOOD" vs "EVIL."

In rewriting, I figure out how to compress two episodes/characters into a single one, cut out less important subplots, etc, and make everything fit.

Finally, I spend a lot of time writing and rewriting the text - usually 2 or 3 drafts. In part, that's because rewriting helps me figure out how to compress a big story into a single adventure.

It's surprising how quickly a couple of minor puzzles or fights shifts the difficulty meter to "very hard" and limits the number of people who actually finish the adventure!

This is a matter of taste and personal style, but I've also chosen to virtually eliminate combat and puzzles from my Tuskyaan adventures, reducing them to pure stories.
