" energy charts, molecular compound analysis, mathematical equations that stretch on for several pages, unidentified this, and unknown that, and to top it all off every conclusion seems to begin with the words bizarre or peculiar... what a bunch of crap! if Dellin hands me one more report simply to point out that we are still nowhere near figuring out what this device is or what it does, I'm going shove him into the nearest Vac-tube and launch him into space... well... I might not get quite that carried away, after all, it's not really his fault, he is just an engineer. though Emily seems to be rather confident in his abilities " (Dellin can fix anything) she says (just let him at it, armed with a tool kit and access to Google and he'll figure it out in no time) ...man I could really use a drink right about now. or anything that might help to stay off this boredom. At least our pursuit of Dr. Pitt is going well, Lakesin tells me that he's picked up traces of Citricon indicating that we are closing in on the Doctor. we have now traveled deeper into the Savage Sea than any known craft on record, if I wasn't so preoccupied with hunting a madman and trying to solve the mystery behind the death of my entire crew, I might actually be excited. we've passed asteroids the size of small planets, and seen solar fires that span for miles. this morning Lakesin had a thrill as we came upon a pod of Freya. the largest one was easily twice the size of my flagship... the whales of space, they're called. of course I don't think anyone has ever seen them grow to these sizes. all such wonder and majesty... crushed in vengeance and frustration... there's no time now for inspiration... no time.
