Description

A Dreadnought-class combat frigate designed originally as an ark for a diminishing sect of humanity, however when they realized that the world was in fact, not going to end, and that they perhaps overreacted, the Oleander was modified to a warring class starship. Thus, it is not only for effective deep space warfare, but also doubles as a self-sustaining space station. Equipped with beam and pulse lasers, fragmentation and particle cannons, as well as a large variety of other similarly terrifying weaponry, the Oleander is a literal floating arsenal. In addition to housing multiple, biologically diverse biospheres, it is also capable of entering supercruise and warp speed, giving it the ultimate advantage over many planet-bound frigates. Although massive in scale, it is aerodynamically designed so that the ship can also enter into atmospheres and hold siege to entire planets should the need arise. The crew capacity exceeds roughly 10,000 plus highly-trained members. However the ship docks so rarely that crew members aboard are usually picked from birth and trained on deck, living their entire lives on the ship. The longest-lasting war frigate of its time and a combat record longer than its actual length, it is not the kind of sleeping giant one wants to wake.
