Description
The G12, more commonly known as the Marauder, is a hovertank developed by Remnant Inc. The tank mixes new and old technology, making a medium-cost, extremely effective fighting vehicle.
The Marauder is one of few fighting vehicles developed utilising a projectile-based cannon. This means it can use a variety of different ammunition types, such as promethium or highly explosive ammunition, to suit a variety of warzones. This adaptability, and the ease of repair led to the Marauder becoming a main battle tank for many warring factions on the Outer Rim. No specialised, proprietary equipment is required to fix this tank, unlike many on the market today. The missile pods on the sides of the turret are also customisable and can be replaced with a variety of different weapons to further expand the vehicles adaptability.
One of the most reputable features of this tank are its unique ?hover-pads? which were only seen on very early hover vehicle designs, none of which stuck around too long due to their unreliability and exposed nature. In this design, the hover-pads are coated with Tauper armour, which protects them from most hand-held weaponry. Even with the vulnerability to anti-tank missiles, the Marauder can still hover and move at a lesser, yet suitable speed missing three hover-pads.
The tank saw most of its use during the Armitage wars, the combination of harsh terrain and light-medium armoured vehicles meant the G12 became a favourite of all three sides. Remnant Inc did develop some successor vehicles, such as the G12 Adapted and the G13 Elite but these vehicles weren?t produced in high enough numbers and didn?t boast enough of an advantage to warrant the upgrade.
