Description

As the summer wanes into autumn on Khana, the Opacaro Drakes begin their yearly ritual and emerge from their cavernous dwellings. Located only in a single mountain range, they were considered mystical by ancient Kahnians. Once they have found a suitable area where they can see the horizon and the sunset begins, the drake will begin to growl and growth on its chest will swell with a burning light. This continues until the sun passes the horizon, whereupon the drake searches for others of its kind.

Once a large group of drakes has collected themselves, they will wait for dawn to begin the second portion of their ritual. As soon as the sun begins to climb back over the horizon, the drakes will all begin to hum with a fervent energy, and the ground beneath them will begin to float into the air. Over the duration of the sunrise, they will construct (what appears to be) a small temple, with engravings bearing the drake in flight. Once constructed, one drake enters the temple and curls up on a pedestal, and the others return to their dens and disappear.

During the next week, the drake gains a stony appearance until it has become completely motionless. After a few brave explorers witnessed and maintained close contact with a temple during this event, it was discovered that the drake seems to convert itself into a stone object, but the interior of that object was completely hollow. Some believe that this sequence of events might mean the drake moves on to a higher plane of existence, but it is not really known how or why, as any attempt to record or measure this change into stone becomes glitched or corrupted data.
