This hummingbird is part of the Family of Trochilidae which consists of hummingbirds. The male and females look alike except the male is a little larger.
This species is usual solitary in its ways and be aggressive by defending its territory. Unusual for this species among hummingbirds, is the male will contribute to raising the chicks alongside the female. In which two eggs will be laid and be taken care of by both parents (quite interesting).
Hummingbirds can go into torpor at night by conserving energy at night. The temperature can go very low at night. When the hummingbird wakes up it takes some time for the hummingbird to get their temperature back to normal.
NOTE: In IRL the beak feet and wings are supposed to be black. More of an iridescence to be present on the bird.
