The USAF's oldest bomber in service. It is a long-range strategic bomber that is powered by eight powerful jet engines. The B-52 has seen a lot of history in its service and has carried different roles in its career. It has been a long-range bomber, the mothership for carrying smaller planes, a deterrent, and more. Throughout the years, countless bombers were created to replace aging bombers. These replacements didn?t last that long. They couldn?t hold to this aircrafts ruggedness and its refusal to be retired.
Two other bombers fly alongside the B-52: the Rockwell B-1 Lancer and Northrop Grumman B-2 Spirit in the USAF.
The Boeing B-52 Stratofortress will be in service till 2040-50. An estimate on the age of some of the aircraft between 80-95 years old! Most of the bomber?s age today is about 57 and possibly older than that.
NEAT FACT: My grandfather flew in the Boeing B-52 Stratofortress as the navigator bombardier. Also, he flew in the B-29, B-47 and B-58.

I used a similar style on the landing gear on the U-2 I created a while back.

The Boeing B-52 Stratofortress has additional landing gear on its wings. So I added additional limbs to replicate that.
