Description
Many call the Wastelands home, but few can lay an evolutionary claim to it. The sapient Shret fall under the latter category.
They bear adaptations to survive the Wastelands they call home. Well-protected from their usual environment by pre-existing biology, they wear little clothing. A back shell keeps heat and parasites at bay, while wide feet and drab colors help them stay afloat and camouflaged.
They are not without clothing however. The attire among one group of Shret is a cloak of sorts. Made from hides, this cloak is draped across the back, attached to a ring of beads encircling what might be called their neck. This serves as an additional piece of protection. Waterskins and pouches alike also hang from the necklace.
While such attire is pragmatic, Shret do have a capacity for art. Their heads and some of their belongings are often painted with crushed ruddle derived from Wasteland rocks. Many are often sighted holding six-limbed dolls, likely styilized representations of the Shret form, perhaps an idol or toy.
It is difficult to gather for how long the Shret and their current cultures have existed. The depicted Shret represents just one culture slash tribe; there are many more hidden in the desert. So far, contact between the Shret and arriving sapients has been limited, due to non-interference rules and the vast distances of the Wastelands making encounters unlikely.
