Description

If you think the gods (of Miikka64's galaxy) as regal, etheric beings sitting on the edge of their heavens with a glass of Burgundy in hand, tranquilly watching the mortals fumble about... You've not understood the first thing about them. Most of the gods are monsters, craving only more Might and power for themselves, and only themselves. There are exceptions of course, as there always are, such as Arapax ? God of Predators. They do not seek power; They seek only for Their next prey, the intrigue of the hunt, and the ultimate satisfaction of sinking Their teeth into Their kill.

Revered, but mostly feared by the cosmos, Arapax is ever on the move. Legends, myths and folktale about a beast larger than a mountain appearing from thin air to tear apart an another beast mercilessly before vanishing just as suddenly have persisted since the dawn of time. The only evidence of a world "graced" by Their eternal hunt are giant foot prints, claw marks and trails of blood and gore.

Yet there are civilizations, tribal cultures mostly, who pray to the Predator King in hopes of having Their blessing for their hunts. Arapax has never been known to respond, because They do not care about these mortals and their pleas. What does catch Their attention is when the mortals take part in the hunt; when They strike prey down.

Despite caring very little for the insignificant lives around Them, Arapax will occasionally give Their blessing to a hunter or two who particularly caught Their gaze, becoming "Prodigies of Predators" [alternate, less formal 'titles' include Predator Prodigies, Apex Hunters, Hunter Absolutes] whose passion, skill and tenacity the hunt impressed the god. They are also said to have a number of Acolytes, but unlike most of the divinities, Arapax doesn't care if the person receiving Their ultimate blessing is a great huntsman or a drooling, sabertoothed beast of prey the size of a capital ship. They merely grant the blessing to anyone worthy of being called a true "apex predator."

However, it should be noted that being made an "Acolyte of Predators" is also a death sentence, and an impossible challenge. The moment an Acolyte loses their interest in the great hunt, be it by boredom or even by running out of creatures to hunt, They will not let them degrade and wither; the God of Predators will simply end the Acolyte's life as They would with any other prey, gorging upon their leftover Might before returning to Their ceaseless chase.

Now that's a fitting look for the "Predator King", and the description certainly does justice for one whose domain is the hunt. I wonder how Arapax would feel about a certain someone coming to hunt them.
