Description

The city of Morinhill is a host for dense forestry, the roots of its giant trees burrowing deep into the earth. Some small animals have adapted to construct nests and tunnels in these vast root systems, and it is these critters that serve as the main source of food for the Morinhill Pedatox.

This pedatox breed excels in digging through dirt and dense roots. Their strong legs equipped with sturdy claws can efficiently excavate the rough terrain, and their bone beaks offer the finesse useful for sifting through the fresh holes and catching prey. The beaks are also used for fencing between rivals when searching for mates. Sometimes chips of their armored beaks break off in these duels and the local xocals collect them to use as tools or ornaments.

Some xocal warriors of Morinhill make use of these pedatoxes as steeds, but their antisocial behaviour makes such endeavors challenging and dangerous. Consequently most warriors prefer the much more gentle and agile nkeckaris. Managing to tame and maintain trust with a pedatox is seen as an impressive show of strength and determination.

The ?Uprising? story with Scaldren has been sort of on hold atm, since I can?t in good conscience give it as much focus as I?d like while I should be focusing on my studies + writing an actually satisfying ?book? is definitely harder than what my usual writing process with adventures and such has been in the past.

One may have noticed that while I have been sharing the occasional background lore thing about xocal culture and history, I have not made many remakes of the more prominent characters, such as the main character himself. This is partly due to the fact that the designs I want for them are just difficult to make in Spore, and partly because then I?d have to write some description and I didn?t want to spoil stuff since I want the main characters to be introduced more organically via the story.

That said, if you want to see some of the main cast, then I have made some illustrations of said characters that you can see in the link below. The image might be a bit misleading because some of the individual designs are from different parts of the story, but I just wanted to have something to represent the characters. At least a couple of them should be recognisable, wouldn?t be surprised if others aren?t since they?ve undergone some redesigning since they were originally introduced in the olden days.

The image also doesn?t include quite all that I would consider ?main cast?, because you know, time constraints and spoilers and such. Anyways, have a good spring and whatnot.
