I had the same problem hello. It seems there is a "minimum height", it shows as having saved but in fact it does not. Hence this bloodstain has some height (and is sunken in game)

Since mollusc blood is blue, and vertebrate blood is red, maybe it's a combination of mollusc and verteblate blood.

all these arguments over chemistry are exactly why i made my main creature a AI robotic entity. >:) though it's a great blood splatter, i cant beleive ppl would argue over the color. cmon ppl.
