I don't know about that but I do know it is more peppy, happy, and less dark than the original My Little Pony. Grant it, I've only seen one episode and I song about fillies saying they didn't care if some baby ponies died.

Yeah, in the Halloween episode it is obvious that Princess Luna has trouble communicating with people (understandable seeing as she was trapped on the moon for so long) but it works out in the end.
