Description

Grand Lady Aiile of the Lylerx of the planet Elima is credited as being the first among the Lylerx Tribes to organize a functioning city and thus taking steps towards civilization. A non aggressive people at heart, Lady Aiile attempted to coerce the city's close neighbors into joining onto the city. Though non aggressive, Lady Aille made good use of the imposing nature of her city to give a little extra 'incentive' to those who were hesitant to join. As the city now named Laitheir continued to expand more established government was needed, leading to Aiile being crowned Empress over the newly formed Laithari Empire. Laitheir grew over the centuries into one of the most prosperous regions in all of Elima. At heart they still remained a largely religious society. In 454 LE the Laithari Empire, under the Riuux Dynasty, struck numerous alliances with their neighbors, who were in constant feud with each other. Through skillful diplomacy, their new found allies were convinced of becoming protectorates of the larger Empire, leading to their eventual annexation. A second period of rapid growth would occur in 1092 LE when a failed attack by the Moritha Fiefdom lead to a holy war which ended up increasing the size of the Empire by almost a third. In 1304 the energy giving properties of Oknite were found and the Laithari were among the first to see the potential of this unique mineral and it's many uses. This placed them far ahead of their contemporaries resulting in both a sense of increased security and of vulnerability by those who would seek to acquire the knowledge through less than friendly means. As the ages passed the Laithari always remained one and sometimes two steps ahead of any other civilization, resulting in the easy annexation of further territories. However it would not be till 2833 LE that the Laithari would establish themselves as the Leader of the Confederated Lands of Elima. An official alliance that saw the majority of the remaining nations in the world retain their sovereignty after the need for an established world order was recognized. However, the Confederacy is mostly for show, and the sovereignty is mostly an illusion as the Laithari are by far the most powerful and maintain control in all matters of state, theirs or otherwise.
