While to the untrained eye it may look almost perfectly arachnid, the Rusewearing Hairyback is actually a prime example of an evolutionary mimic; it is, in reality, more of a herbivorous avian sort of creature. Usually peaceful, and to the disdain of arachnophobics everywhere, (Sorry, Spooradit! XD) they prefer to keep to large social groups of ten or more and graze the fields for any tasty fruit or leaves.

When threatened, however, this arachnid wanna-be unleashes a deadly weapon that is not so alien to its spidery form; it fires a caustic venom from its rear end, injecting spores into the target, which hatch very rapidly and consume the creature alive from the inside-out, usually from where the venom has first struck. Tada, voila and so on! Within the hour, we have a thoroughly dead and consumed predator, and a bunch of very tiny Hairybacks. Usually, the parent escapes before the predator has the chance to kill it, but there are exceptions. All the more better for the baby Hairybacks, who would have no qualms about eating their own mother. At about one year old, the younglings revert to their usual herbivorous diet. Until then, they are the nightmare of small creatures and insects everywhere, and some of the more enterprising ones have even been known to burrow into the skin of other sleeping creatures...
