This poor Sporian was killed by downraters. Plain and simple. Downrating is a form of bullying, which has been shown to cause death of victims by increasing severity of suicidal thoughts. It also destroys their futures and yours, too. Do not hit that thumbs down, if you want anyone to live! People have been driven to their own death by bullying acts, in person or online. This action creates a negative tendency or aura around you, making people see you as negative. This means hitting the thumbs down too often will make you easily labeled. And guilty as charged.

It can also be a good thing if used correctly. However, I agree, downrating to bully or out of spite is bad.
