Description

Andrewsarchus was a heavy built mammal that lived during the Eocene epoch. It possessed a long head, short legs and hoofed feet. It is debated that Andrewsarchus is the largest land mammalian predator known, though Arctodus is a contender for this title. Andrewsarchus is known from a single, massive skull and a few bones. They may have been scavengers or hunters, but this will remain unknown until more remains are found.
