Description

The Corithi Confederacy is a powerful race in the Third Arm, Second Finger Galactic Region. Currently ruled by President Qaissar, The Corithi have long attempted to expand their empire throughout the region. A clever race, they have slowly expanded their rule by manipulating the nearby systems in their favor, eventually annexing them. This has led to division among the independent systems as to whether the Corithi are to be hated or welcomed. Thou technically made up of autonomously ruled systems, the Corithi have strong leadership from the Capital planet of Corelth. Economically well off, the Corithi have been able to lure independent systems and planets that struggle financially. They lack a centralized military in what is both their strength and weakness, while the use of local militias as the primary means of defense increases their annexes sense of independent rule it also means that the national army is rather small at any time of peace and as such is required to defend a substantial range of space. All militias are required to join the military in times of war to help counter this however the effectiveness of this varies best on how large a militia the systems have created. Their greatest rival is the Kingdom of Visii, who also attempts to expand their sphere of influence into the independent systems between the two nations. The Corithians have long sought to press into Visii territory to be able to threaten the Visii, but no long periods of occupation for either side have ever taken place. In a constant state of fluctuating between war and peace, the rivalry has proven most devastating for the small systems round about the giants.
