Description
Designed by the Liikthian Corporation, Commissioned by the Lylerx Military in 603 SU as a replacement for the aging Repentance. The Atonement is a high speed but lightly armored transport. Not intended for combat, it possesess only small caliber turrets on the nose and the top. It is capable of carrying a full platoon of foot soldiers along with equipment, or two vehicles, usually tanks or artillery. To allow it to acheive quick speeds even when fully loaded, the walls are only thick enough to withstand re-entry, meaning that it generally requires escort by stronger craft. It is generally a landing transport, but if pressed, it can open the sides to allow for an air drop. It is most often used in mass, but is sometimes sent out into small groups or even alone, for covert or blitzing operations.
