Description
Tasked to ptotect the Emporers of the Old Alterias Empire, the Royal Guard were not only their own faction, but an entirely different subspecies, genetically enhanced to be larger and stronger than normal Alterias. Each Royal Guard would spend at least half their lives training in advanced combat, as well as such subjects as patience, perserverence, control, spiritual clarity, and extreme devotion. They defended the emperor, and the Imperial Palace with religious fervor. All else came second, even the Emporer's own family, if the time came to evacuate the capitol or seal off the inner halls. There was even a special sect devoted to the Palace alone, who would never, under any circumstance, abandon it.
These elite soldiers would line the corridors, halls, and doorways of the Imperial Palace, with the highest ranking Guards lining the walls of the throne room itself.
