Description
Born of both Crogenitor and Darkspore genetic tampering, the Raktha of Cryos has been altered beyond recognition over the ages. First by the Crogenitors, the Rakthae were transformed from simple herd animals having just recently survived Cryos? ice age into noble, almost draconic beings, adapted to the plasma-rich world the Crogenitors had created in Cryos. They remained the guardians of Cryos for many years, until the Darkspore arrived. They haven?t changed much physiologically since then, but the once noble Rakthae have become savage, incredibly destructive war machines. Although they were never real predators ?the ability to metabolize Cryos? raw plasma saw the need to predate become a secondary action- the Darkspore have altered the cellular makeup of the Raktha?s brains, turning them into savage monsters prone to wild fits of frantic berserker rage. This is far from a good thing: The Rakthae are immensely powerful fire elementals to begin with, but before the Darkspore arrived their pyrokinesis was more defensive than offensive. Now anything that so much as looks at a Raktha sideways is quickly incinerated by what can best be described as a ?weaponized pyroclastic flow? generated by the mane-like structure on the Raktha?s back. The Raktha can pretty much swamp an area the size of a football stadium at full power. The fires of the Raktha can range anywhere from an agonizing slow burn to a micro supernova, although the latter carries the risk of killing the Raktha itself. Attacking a Raktha via direct contact is a foolishly stupid proposition: A Raktha?s fire will instantly flare up to obliterate anything that comes in contact with anything other than its claws, which are relatively harmless in comparison- but still capable of shredding a tank to pieces. Undoubtedly, the Raktha is one of the most absurdly dangerous creatures under the influence of the Darkspore.
