Description

#2 MPN 4/24/2011 [Our attempt at combing the style of Iraultza`s last IAE creation (namely, the Toletum Mk2) and that of the Lorazain. Given that, I think the name is rather appropriate.] The Ondare is the embodiment of the IAE combat philosophy, favoring powerful shielding over armor plating, sporting top of the line propulsion systems, and a potent, oversized main weapons array. The MCX-709 energy weapon used as the main armament creates a small, extremely dense cluster of high-energy gamma-rays and iron plasma in the center of the main grid array, contained by warping the space in a bubble around it. Once this cluster reaches a supercritical density, the massive amount of gamma radiation is collimated and directed at an enemy ship, while the superheated plasma is fired at speeds nearing 16,000km/s using sequentially triggered gravity slings and electromagnetic coils. Secondary weapons include two thermal fusion cannon turrets mounted near the rear engines, 20 batteries of heavy plasma cannons, and an unusual anti-fighter/gunship defence system that uses a type of swarm missile which is encased in a high-temperature plasma bubble by its launcher.
