Description

This is the Krullu. Its name is pronounced as "cruh-loo". These elephant-looking carbon-based lifeforms are omnivorous alienoids with a unique evolution pattern and culture.Their few scales originated from the disasters of their homeplanet, Krullect. Most of the creatures there had already evolved to survive the hot planet and tiny meteors that constantly poured from the atmosphere, much like how much it rains in the Amazon. Those creatures would usually burrow underground to protect themselves if they had vulnerable skin, hide in thick treetop canopies or use a hard plated skin to deflect the meteor bits. The much "newer" beings are often much too week to survive the first few months on land and even shallow water.But when the Krullu first meandered to land, they started hiding and growing nests in shrubs when they realized the dangers of the meteors. Course, they had to travel every now and then, so as the younger ones stayed safe at home, they are oblivious to their dying kin on the prowl for food and water. Thus, not many Krullu made it back.As they evolved and grew as an older species, their population decreased immensely every million years and came critically close to extinction. What they didn't know was that they were slowly evolving scales under their slimy skin every time they went out food scavenging. They then grew the ability to harden their flesh when danger lurks. This gradually reduced the kill rate for each hunting trip by over 70%. Their population started rising again, until their numbers were even greater than they were before they started going extinct.If you look back at the Krullu's tribal years, you won't find as much of a clothing difference as they are today. Their culture didn't change as much as most species do as they evolve, so they used armoring on the kneepads and shoulders during tribal wars, civil wars and even star wars today.The golden ring around their necks are what they consider "a symbol of courage". In the tribal days, their Emperor, or Chief, wore a gold ring. When the Krullan People and Drexxon People went to war, the Krullan Emperor lead several miniature fleets of foot-soldiers in a village raid. Right before the Krullu won the raid, and soon the entire war, the Emperor was killed. Ever since, all Krullu wore the same ring around their necks as "a symbol of courage" and a recognition of their ancient Emperor. They haven't yet let go of this tradition.Today, they are a thriving civilization, with highly advanced technology and very retro-like architecture.
