Description
The Arthal are a small, but relatively important race of miners. 95% of the empire's income comes from the government sponsored Arthal Mining Corporation (AMC), which also serves as the main form of defense. Because they are small, and not very wealthy (but not impoverished), the empire can't afford a true military. Most of government spending goes back to the AMC, or ensuring the Arthal people stay out of poverty. As a result of their economic situation, most Arthal are independent and hard-working, and value friendsip and family more than anything else. In these times of war, the Arthal provide a service many large empires need, and have experienced a boost economically. As a result, the AMC should be releasing an entirely new fleet of mining vessels, and possibly create a security division.The Arthal have no alliances, so to speak, but they do have ties to both the Tyrian and the Trade Alliance, so they have a bit of influence outside of their domain.
