Description

With their new infrastructure being constructed and the colonies beginning to hunger for raw materials to begin mass production cycles, the RMC felt it was time for a significant upgrade to their older Lorazain mining frigate design. The REV9 variant of the Lorazain utilizes triple belt modular excavator using HL92 Alloy cutters, and with its 6 modular hardpoints the ship is suprisingly versatile for its size and class. The tri-belt excavator also drastically increases the speed at which the Lorazain harvests materials, and, due to the method in which it is operated, generally neccessitates the use of the large landing structure mounted to the ship, which retracts as the frigate digs and pushes itself into into the surface of whatever it is harvesting. Much of the previous storage space inside the ship has been removed and replaced with additional automated refineries and mechanized task forces due to the increase in speed of operation. Additionally, two docking ports are now present at the rear of the ship to allow cargo drones to offload processed ore to a tender ship as needed without the frigate having to cease operation. The harpoints can be mounted with drone bays, additional fuel and energy storage, energy generators, shield generators and emitters, point defense missile launchers, storage, or anything else that could be needed for the tasks the ship will be required to perform, the standard configuration is six drone bays housing four mining drones (which assist in harvesting operations and in creating clearance for the ship to continue digging) and two point defense drones (to help fend off stray asteroids and metiorites and, if necessary, enemy fighter craft).
