Sidewinder
(After a long pause, I bring you the Sidewinder, a rifle that fires neutron star matter, now tell me that isn?t cool ? anyway, feel free to comment and/or modify this thing any way you wish. Also tell me if I made a mistake or two in the design and read this large description)
The N-117 Sidewinder infantry production model represents the beginning of the newest iteration of Shimeran martial technology. It brings together several exotic technologies and introduces the appropriately named God's Arrow series of ordinance to the battlefield. Formally heavy high velocity 20+ mm computerized munitions known as Ferrox rounds were standard in hand held small arms. Due to the tungsten carbide composition of said munitions and velocity exceeding Mach 12 targets are often utterly obliterated. The rounds themselves however have a beastly kickback and require a complex arming mechanism in order to fit a substantial quantity in a magazine, lowering performance and limiting use to the Stormtrooper core. This new strain of bullet addresses this. In cohesion with the N 117, God's Arrow ordinance delivers the same killing power and computerized accuracy of its predecessor and uses a system which can theoretically defeat any defense measure. The tip of a God's Arrow is forged from the core of a neutron star. The core contains a super dense element which is mined in vast quantities by drone rigs in Imperial and neutral space. It has become commercialized to the point where it finds liberal civilian use. Although from a military perspective Corpurum is perfect as a kinetic energy penetrator as the material is so dense and heavy it can punch a hole through the toughest of armor, even Adamantium. The rest of the God's Arrow round follows a simple streamline design. A thermo ceramic body with an iron core incased in Adamantium for the best possible ballistics performance and conductivity, Pop out reverse v fins and plasma jets regulated by the on board nano computer and finally an electromagnetic field generator meant to deter shielding. While the round itself is a piece of art, its assorted rifle is far more than a mere delivery system. The frame is made from a durable lightweight nanofiber composite that accommodates to fit various forms of customization. The barrel can switch between several calibers to accommodate the more widespread Ferrox ordinance and the usual factory issue 12,17mm God's Arrow, depending on user input. It can also be swapped out for magnetized rails or mission specific types. The Sidewinder utilizes a brand new dual feed passive fusion fuel cell that feeds on external power sources with very high efficiency making it very popular with boarding crews due to the massive exposure of energy in space. The Sidewinder also has a high capacity 70 round drum which fits comfortably within the weapon's bullpup design thanks to the heavy shock absorbing stock. The model shown also includes a triangular holo sight, flashlight/laser and an integrated micro flak cannon bellow the barrel. It is optimized for every engagement range and its rate of fire clocks in at 1000 RPM (note that the user may switch to semi auto or three round burst via the fire mode selector on the left).

Super neat gun! Trigger grip needa a bit of work though. And I don't see how you could do any precision targeting with that sight. This looks far better than most guns in the recent Call of Duty games

I am highly sorry I must simply say it here since I have not the time to comment on all of magnificent creations full of true spore mastery! I haven't seen such levels of creation skill for a long time and needles to say I subscribed immediately :)

Makes sense. I always forget about shielding XP.. So that shouldnt be an issue uless it is s stealth boarding, in which case, a weapon like this likely wouldnt be used.

My only question being is, how is a weapon that fires a round that penetrates just about anything, remotly ideal for boarding crews lol. Uless the boarded ship had no air, this could be an issue, as if would puch holes all in the ship. ;)

Nice design. Detailing is well done, as usual ;)
