I love this creation, especially the shield. It looks very reminiscent of a pirate ship steering wheel.

The shield looks like it has some interesting weaponised aspects going by the protrusions on it, they could be used to bash an opponent and disarm them aswell as light weight defence!

I enjoy the conhesion of design elements here, the armour designs lends a nice contrast of something futuristic that goes nicely with the apparently brutish character you're portraying going by the description. :P
