Description

Designed as a response to the discovery of Grox forces within the Milky Way, the IDF?s new line of Advanced CombatSkins are currently the most advanced pieces of tactical military hardware in our expansive arsenals. These powered exoskeletons are capable of taking full advantage of the physical capabilities of any and all species within the IDF, amplifying their speed, strength, and durability. It is a sealed system, capable of operation in any environment hospitable and otherwise non-hospitable. It is hardened against EMP, radiation, and has infallible filters that specialize in removing toxins and alien bacteria from any local atmosphere.
The armor is composed of various layers of remarkable strength and augmented with a refractive coating capable of dispersing energy weapon strikes. The suit contains a gel-filled, largely ooblek like body suit composed of the latest and greatest in classified military tech allowing it to not only morph to the body shape of any species within our ranks, but to fully and comfortably accommodate them underneath a thick armored bodysuit. The gel layer regulates temperature and acts as a shock absorber. Above the gel and armored morph suit sits plates of interlocking, hardened armor plating made of the same alloys as starship hulls, the specifics of which are highly classified. Between armored plates and morph suit, the most devastating weapon the suit carries can be found: a layer of hyperconducting material and near liquid crystal forming a network capable of supporting a fully sentient Collective mind. These minds are as alive and vivid as any one of us and as such, each suit is entirely unique and may house a different personality. The A.I.s have dedicated themselves to the IDF and to their suit?s co-pilot. When the user is incapacitated, the Collective mind may override the suit, turning it into living power armor in order to fulfill the mission or escort the injured operator to safety. Furthermore, the A.I. is capable of aiding the operator in a plethora of ways, most of which are classified as of this time. It is extremely common for operators and their A.I. to become extremely close, though initial interfacing can be extremely disorienting.
Additionally, the array of advanced sensors help the user to not only make advanced tactical decisions, but to connect to other soldiers on the battlefield, building a massive battle network that can paint a dynamic picture of any battlefield in real time, allowing command to provide appropriate direction. Through an interface that connects the user?s brain directly to their suit, the user's thoughts command the armor's movement and weapons, and input from the on-board sensors comes directly to the user's mind. These features facilitate smooth operation in an otherwise over encumbering suit of armor. These suits will be distributed amongst IDF forces all along the Milky Way beachhead in an attempt to turn the tides of war, allowing our combatants to attain a far more aggressive role.
