Description
A continuation of SystemFailure's "Quilly Pussback". I really liked the original but wanted to imagine this species had 1evolved to become a nimble water-predator, a bit like a mix between a crocodile and a sea otter.

This variety lives primarily in salt water near the coasts, but they can wander around on the beaches after storms to look for meals to scavenge. They are not picky eaters and will take just about any flesh they can get.

The feet have become more simplistic and webbed to aid the muscular tail in swimming, while the first pair have become basal hands. Lacking claws, they're useful only to grip rocks or large plants while underwater, stopping the creature from drifting away

The quills on its back have disappeared since moving to a more amphibious lifestyle, being replaced with spiny fins along its back. The fleshy growths have hardened into tough armor, giving the creature its name.
