This ability also allows Plants to make Landfall. Cost: 25 EP
Idle Malus: linked to excess combat stat.

By MyLittleSquirt

As this polymer aids in moisture retention and makes the cell walls or other polymer-infused tissues tougher, this ability adds 1 to the combat stat and supplies 1 additional level of humidity tolerance, causing the stat to become a range.

Lignin: An ability that allows an organism (Plant or Chemovore) the ability to produce the polymer present in woody plants.

By MyLittleSquirt

Mechanically, this ability supplies a tolerance for pH levels 2 whole integers (four of the 0.5 levels) lower, and allows Plants a Fungi to make Landfall. Costs 20 EP, though organisms with Roots or Mycorrhizae only need to spend 10 EP.

Cell Wall Enrichment: An ability available for plants and fungi that enriches the cell walls with carbohydrates to produce an organelle more similar to those found in Terran embryophytes.

Note that immobile species cannot feed on plants or other immobile species.

By MyLittleSquirt

This is also cumulative so each immobile species will boost the other species separately. (Three different species of immobile animals will provide a +3 EP boost for each mobile species in the same biome.)

Immobility: This ability is not so much a true ability on its own, but rather a result of a speed stat of 0. Immobile animal species have the side effect that every mobile species in the same biome produces an additional EP each turn.

Mycorrhizae: an ability available to fungi that allows symbiosis. Mycorrhizae allow the fungi to connect to a symbiont, trading metabolites for access to other resources, also allowing the fungus to provide any of its immunities to the symbiont. Cost 30 EP

Plants with roots and herbivores that feed on plants with roots produce 1 additional EP per round, non-scalable by special biomes. Evolving Roots costs 10 EP.
