Description
(Phase 1) A giant arachnid race from the planet Tarant, the Tarantuan rose to dominance and sentience on their home world primarily through their ability to selectively target their venom to a particular rival species. Any creature that became too great of a threat to them suddenly found itself dropped to the bottom of the food chain. Applying their sinister cunning through their technology the Tarantuan reached stellar capability rapidly and are very advanced ship and weapons engineers. Believing strongly in the superiority of the arachnid design it was natural for them to quickly form an alliance with the Swarachnoid empire when they two races encountered each other in their explorations
