Description
Standing 38 feet tall, the BAU-4a Chimera Mark II does NOT give a crap. What it can't blow it up it will just step on. It was designed to work in tandem with its lighter, faster predecessor. Newer versions of both can be equipped with ACAI (Adaptive Combat Artificial Intelligence) and make for a downright nightmarish robotic platoon that knows what the enemy will do before he does. The shield modules visible on The Chimera Mark II's shoulders cover an area of approximately 50 yards, and any friendlies in the radius enjoy guaranteed protection from projectiles smaller than a soda can. Unfortunately the mech must be stationary to use it, and compounded with its relatively low speed and high heat signature it makes for an easy target for heavier weaponry. Casualties are surprisingly high for the amount of armor it has piled on.
Another interesting feature is its 360 degree-awareness Strikestorm missile targeting system. Using GPS, it locks onto all pilot-approved targets within sensor visibility, then fires skyward at each and every one in a graceful arc of death. Since the missiles are fired straight upwards they are not limited by the pilot's line of sight, so there is no hiding from them.

I've always liked the raptor styl mechs more (ya'know like the ones in Mech Assualt). You hit the body shape perfectly. Looks like a hawk.
