Description

There are two things the Ascendant Sovereign, Zero13, fears: The possibility of his people's suffering, and his own power. In the heart of his chest, under all of his vestigial armor, burns a Heart of Infinity, a limitless-kinetic-power cell that generates more power than an entire worldship's warp drives. Zero has so finely-tuned his body that he can use every last ounce of this terrifying power without any harm to himself, but he is absolutely terrified to do so: Although he couldn't have cared less about the lives lost, the pre-Combine Ascendant scorched the surface of an entire pirate fortress-world to ashes at only 80% power. As such, he has set in place numerous restraining programs to prevent him from using his full power if his temper flares. He uses so much of his programming to micromanage the Combine anyways, so the most he can focus into his combat protocols is about 4% power when at ease. At the most, he is willing to use a fourth of his power against a powerful enemy. If he does go full 100%, his vestigial armor detaches from his body, revealing his rarely-seen Black Diamond chassis and his true face- a fiery, demonic maw crowned by five featureless, burning eyes. His voice becomes slightly warped, and his personality changes from temperamental yet warm to the embodiment of malice and rage. He almost quite literally becomes chaos incarnate, an Apostle of Destruction. He is not invincible though: He is actually more vulnerable at 100%. This is because his internal components are vulnerable to heavy kinetic impacts. He wears his vestigial, ceremonial armor over a layer of g-deadening material to protect himself. At 100%, the armor falls off and the g-protection burns away, leaving him vulnerable to kinetic impacts. As he is made of an apparently indestructible material, he is still invulnerable to conventional weaponry. And even if one were to ram a battleship into him, his personalized nanite factories would still rebuild his innards. The Ascendant Sovereign is, effectively, capable of losing a battle but never losing his life.
