Description

The Type-45A Dynamic Support Cruiser, colloquially nicknamed the "Seer", is a modular design model for light cruisers fielded by the IDA Dominion. Most commonly utilized by it's Templar spec ops division, the Type-45A template is the base design of several light cruiser units of varying types and purpose. It is generally fielded in defensive roles, and only one model of the Seer is deployed for standard use in the Dominion proper. The basic Type-45A is most commonly used as a transport ship and mobile base for Templar operations.

The Type-45A Seer is often used in conjunction with planned Templar operations, designed to infiltrate enemy territory and deploy operatives with stealth and efficiency. It boasts psi-cloaks and background refractors, and can carry 4 medium-sized transport ships. It's crew generally numbers around 7-10, and it is designed to accomodate around 4-6 individual Dominion Templars. It's interior schematics are hazily understood by Galactic Council powers, though known functionalities are weapon bays, 2 hangars, "kitchens" of a sort, bunks for crewmembers, and communication decks which are also used for planning and mission relays. Judging by the other Seer variants' designs, many of these rooms and functions are reorganized and repurposed on other types of the Type-45 design.

The Type-45A variant boasts a modular weapons system, and each one is usually outfitted with new experimental weapons. Generally these weapons involve psionic technology of some kind, and are used effectively. The actual usage of them is sparse at best, for a number of reasons.

The Type-45B is a defensive support hybrid craft, and keeps hidden while repairing damaged units and delivering stealth attacks. The Type-45C is a dedicated stealth warship, flanking behind enemy lines and delivering swift attacks. The Type-45D is a dedicated defense ship, which sacrifices it's psi-cloak for defensive psi-shields, which it uses to protect it's allies. The Type-45E is the only known Seer variant which isn't a Templar unit, and is used in patrol and scout roles, and is commonly seen defending Dominion colonies. It may also infrequently appear in fleet operations.
