A 1-meter high arachnoid scavenger that wanders the ashen wastelands at night, able to track down corpses from miles away through some unknown method. It might have something to do with the glowing bacterial 'eyes' on its abdomen.

I'm pretty sure the umibozu part of it's name is inspired by a mythological creature called the Umibozu from Japanese mythology that appears during calm days near ships and creates storm. It is also a black shadowy creature, with black skin, white eyes
