Description

Xaacoils are a species that were created by the Xocal Empire from genetically altered xocal DNA, and then uplifted with monolith-technology amidst various specifically engineered hazards and dangers in a ritual the xocals refer to as Scalding. In xocal culture, there is a predominant idea that a person?s true self can only be brought forth via a series of challenges, each more difficult than the last. Each challenge must tear a piece away, until the truth is revealed.

The elders among xocals noticed that other empires were developing technology at a faster pace than themselves, as xocals were generally more tradition-oriented than innovative. Seeing the writing on the wall should they not do anything, the elders instead decreed that a new servant species must be created, one that could serve the Xocal Empire in the matters of scientific progress, while xocals would still focus on their own way of life.

Thus, the seed of xocal DNA was planted, and made to endure a Scalding designed to bring forth a species that met the requirements of the elders? decree. Through many trials and tribulations, the species of Xaacoil was created. Though at the time, their species was referred to with the name Xacol.

Xacols were left free to build their own empire, as long as they swore servitude to their masters. Xacols would share any new technologies and innovations they learned with the Xocal Empire, in exchange for being created and for Xocal Empire?s protection. That was how it went with the two empires for a while.

But the thing was, xacols really needed no protection. They were physically strong and intelligent, thanks to their Scalding. And with their new technological prowess, even as a smaller empire, their military strength caught up to their superiors. And unlike their superiors, xacols were no slaves to tradition. Why would they need to follow the old decrees?

Thus, xacols declared themselves independent, and took on the name of Xaacoil, to separate themselves from their supposed masters, while still acknowledging their origin. Obviously the Xocal Empire didn?t take kindly to this betrayal, and the two empires met in war.

With the secession of another Scalded servant species, the Magner workers, the Xocal Empire seemed to be losing the war. That was, until the rogue captain Lord Scaldren, one of the main executors of the Magner and Xacol Scaldings, rebelled against the Xocal Empire, and took the throne for himself. Some speculated that Scaldren had orchestrated it all from the very beginning: making the empire dependant on xacols for weapons and magners for workforce, and then inciting them to rebel, making the Xocal Empire weak and distracted for him to take over.

After Lord Scaldren took control of the Xocal Empire, the war between the two empires slowed down, though it never officially ended. The Xocal Empire had set their sights on other things, and xaacoils went on to build their own independent empire and conduct their own research, always prepared for the time when xocals might decide to take back what they deem theirs.

It was due to this constant vigilance that when the Last MATERUX War began, the Xaacoil Empire was better prepared than most. But like their once-masters, xaacoils too lost that fight. But unlike their once-masters, xaacoils fought to the bitter end.

[Seems this creation got the lineage glitch too, thanks Spore servers]

Oh, so I'm not the only one with cursed lineages? That's a bit worrisome to hear. Anyway, it's fantastic to see Xacols/Xaacoils again after such a long time, and the adventures leading to Scaldren's rise into power are still etched in my memory.
