Description

The Goliath Form is the brutal linebreaker of the Celestial War, combining overwhelming power with raw speed to wreak havoc on unsuspecting foes.

Like alll Celestial automatons, the Goliath was named and classified by the militaries of Anea according to its role in battle, as well as any pertinent qualities or features it possesses. However, nobody has any idea what the Celestials' makers originally called these machines, if they were even called anything in the first place. Regardless, time and experience have made it clear that 'Goliath' is a very fitting name for this Form.

The Goliath is a machine which has no equivalent among the stellar navies of Anea. It's the size of a corvette yet is much more heavily armed and armored. It's as fast as a fightercraft, yet moves around nothing like one. It's not a dedicated jamming craft, but comes equipped with its own ECM suite and an assortment of missile-deployed hacking nanites. Its nine gravimetric nodes lend it astounding maneuverability - maneuverability that is not hindered in the slightest by its hefty front armor and excessive armament. It's a vessel with no true weakness. Just what purpose does such an all-conquering machine of war serve on the battlefield?

The key to understanding the Goliath is in realizing its sheer rarity. Goliaths are rarer than any of the various warship-tier Forms despite being a fraction of their size. The closest analogue to the Goliath would actually be the superweapons and hyperfighters of the centuries to come, many of which actually took direct inspiration from its design. Simply put, the Goliath is an elite unit that?s difficult to manufacture and costly to operate, and as a result its performance is similarly exceptional. Those who have witnessed it firsthand on the battlefield explain it best:

One group of survivors testified that just a single Goliath could cause trouble for a fleet of a hundred ships, claiming many victims before its destruction. Others said they?d rather face a dozen swarms of Eyeballs (approx. 5000 swarmers) than a pack of Goliaths. The fact that the top superstar aces of the Celestial War gloat about their certified kills on Goliaths shows just how uniquely dangerous these Forms are. Short of a Celestial Battleship or Overlord, nothing is as lethal or fierce as a Goliath at full charge, pulling what may be 50 Gs of acceleration as it unloads its full arsenal on any hapless victims standing in the way. If you?re not an ace or some veritable force of nature, better make sure to bring a whole fleet with you before taking one of these monsters head on.

What a cutie

The crustacean form of the vessel leads well into the theme of this ship: a heavy hitter. The effort put into ensuring a seamless silhouette shines through. Up-rated.

Detailed and well thought-out description, I can respect that kind of attention to detail. I will post another comment once I've seen it in the editor.
