Refonais are a species who have dedicated their entire existence to being unapologetic scoundrels. They were accidentally uplifted from parasitic insects by captain Sbaaz-Buz during his first failed "Operation Zeus," which was an attempt to create the surisins a powerful "vassal race" (read slaves). After the rogue surisin captain deemed the operation a failure and left the refonais to their own devices, a band of pirates came to scavenge the ruins of a local colony (which was erected by Sbaaz and later also destroyed by him to "make room" for his unhinged experiment). The pirates were attacked and killed by the evolving refonais, who would then use the pirates' technology as the foundation for their own.
Nowadays, refonais move about the galaxy of Miikka64 in countless packs, each led by an alpha (also known as 'supers' by some), seeking to make a living by doing everything and anything considered illegal. Keep in mind that like varaksins and nitches, there is no such thing as a "honest refonai."

An interesting remake, I do love the eye desgin!
