These giant arachnids are native to the planes of fire where they dwell in and around the hot volcanic vents. These spiders will feed on anything which contains a concentration of moisture, and they can detect the presence of water from nearly half a kilometer away. They make use of their fire retardant webbing to spin a system tightrope safety lines above the worst of the heat radiating from the fire planes where they live, allowing them to traverse the deadly terrain quickly and with ease. These deadly arachnids are used by the armies of the fire planes in their invasions, where they serve both as weapons and as mounts for the invading hordes. Many foes find the visage of troops of the fire planes riding down on them atop these horrible arachnids too much to take and attempt to flee the battle while they still hold their lives.
