The Azure rayfin is an interesting kind of rayfin. They are nocturnal, sleeping in caves during the day and prowling the reefs and shallows at night. They are considered very beautiful, as they possess bio-luminescence. Using this, they light up spots all over their skin, lighting up their patterns of cyan dots, green stripes, and putting strobe-like multicolor pulses down their fins. They are very social animals, and use these lights to communicate with each other. Some studies suggest that the language is not inborn, and that different populations develop their own language of light.
