Frilled Tiger-Birds come from ancient Xana mythology. However, they aren't considered a Xanian creature because of their long disappearance. The Tiger-Birds are believed now to be extinct, alongside the Arachgon, who both lived deep in the heart of Xana's tropics. These unique fowls are thought to have used the barbs on their wing joints to puncture enemies and transfer venom into their bodies. Since the barbs are in place of real feathers, the bird couldn't fly, but could run at great speeds. The Frilled Tiger-Birds are thought to reach breathtaking speeds at up to 90 miles per hour using very stern legs and large feet. From studying their bones, Xanian experts are led to believe that the Tiger-Bird should be really named the Cheetah-Bird, because the joints similar to those of a cheetah's were recently found in a Tiger-Bird fossil.
