Description
A typical unarmored Xadari specimen. Although the Xadari assimilate organic matter -dead or alive- to evolve and survive, they are also fond of cybernetics and frequently find Synthetics on the menu. Xadari society is unique: No undead have ever been documented having any manner of social interaction, aside from territorial squabbles in the more advanced cases. So with the Xadari?s true nature well and truly hidden from galactic society, it is assumed that the ?Fleshbag Plague? is a mindless abomination. Nothing could be further from the truth: The Xadari function under an incredibly well-organized pseudo-caste system, run by a modest and efficient bureucracy. The Xadari are remarkably intelligent, and are more advanced than most space faring species. Despite their savage methods of assimilating more flesh and genetics into the species, the Xadari are? actually rather mellow, and outside of planetary invasions they will likely refrain from shooting trespassers on sight simply out of curiosity. Not that they won't be shot anyway. The average Xadari is well over 300 years old, and the vast majority of them could be considered scholars. Xadari technology is a potent blend of biomechanics, warp technology, the latest synthetic technologies, and various unique technologies taken from planets they have assimilated. On assimilation, the Xadari are interesting in the fact that they will never attack a race?s homeworld, although they will keep sometimes well over a hundred sleeper agents on an aggressive neighbor?s planet of origin, silently retrieving technology and secrets as well as genetic data. When assimilating a planet?s population, the Xadari will surround the world with massive cloaked fleets and cut off all of the target world?s communications, rendering the entire population blind. Orbital pods containing thousands of ?Fleshbag? drones and soldiers will crash to the surface, preferably in densely populated areas, and proceed to sow the seeds of chaos. The Xadari themselves will then descend ?cloaked- to the surface en masse, proceeding to butcher the terrified inhabitants of that world at leisure, mowing down entire armies effortlessly and assimilating millions upon millions of people. Once a victim has been assimilated, not only does the Xadari acquire the organic matter of its prey, but also its complete genetic information. This genetic information is used by the Xadari to evolve and improve, and then shared with the species so that they may do the same. Perhaps their most remarkable aspect, however, is the preservation of the prey?s mind. In a process known as Induction, thousands of Xadari pour the consciences of their prey into an immense cauldron of organic matter, rebirthing their victims as fully-evolved Xadari, their minds and personalities preserved.
