Description
(Cont. from Topple the Tyrant) Desia ran, leading the team, constantly looking behind him. He could hear the footsteps of his pursuers. The sound of gun shots, and one of his officers fell, a bullet through his chest. He was dead, his body lying in a pool of silver-blue blood. ?Keep moving!? Desia ordered. They didn?t have time to mourn the fallen. Not here. Not in this situation. Desia looked to his right, seeing a small ally. ?To the side!? he called, having his team duck behind the small passage as bullets sprayed the corner. They all panted for a bit before Veil pointed down the ally to a dome-shaped structure. ?There,? she said, ?That?s where the ships are.? Desia nodded, activating his comm. device. ?All officers, rendezvous at dome-like structure near power pylons.? Static, before one of his officer?s voices crackled through. ?Sir, we?re pinned down. They got us surrounded. No escape.? There was the sound of gun fire and a scream. ?Repeat, no escape! Don?t wait for us. We?ll hold them for as long as possible.? The others saw the grim look on Desia?s face. The Brakhai captain, as much as he wanted to, knew that trying to find and save them would only result in all of the team being killed. He had to lead the others to safety. ?Good luck officer,? he said grimly, ?It was an honor working beside you.? More static, before the officer?s voice came through, though now it was pained. ?Good luck, captain Desia,? they grunted, ?It was a pleasure serving under your command.? Desia sighed before looking up to the others. ?Let?s go,? he ordered. They ran for the docking bay, darting inside. ?Where?s an operational ship?? Desia asked. Veil moved down a hallway. ?This way,? she said. They started to move down when a massive EMP explosion came from the distant. Desia knew what his officers had done. But as said, there was no time to mourn the fallen. They came into the hangar where a couple of ships sat. Veil moved to a shuttle. ?This one,? she said as the ramp lowered and she went in. The others followed. It was enough to house several individuals. Separate dorms, a kitchen, and a control room that could fit the entire team. They analyzed the computers, checking to see if everything could run. ?Not the best,? Veil murmured, ?But it?ll get us out of here fast.? There was a banging, and soon gunshots came in. Veil took one of the seats. ?It?ll take us awhile to lift!? she said frantically. The Scoranian looked at the team. ?Dulock, take the right seat. Brakhai, left. Make sure everything is operational. It?s going to take us a minute before we can lift off.? More gunshots came through. Desia?s remaining officer made for the exit. ?Where are you going?? Desia ordered. The officer lifted her guns. ?This thing?s not going to hold for long. I?ll attract their fire while you get these guys out of here, commander Desia.? The Brakhai leader nodded. ?Thank you, officer Silvis. May Confucius grant you peace.? The officer saluted her commander for the last time before heading out. True to her word, she attracted the gunfire as she ran across the hangar, ducking behind some crates. However, she didn?t last long, as a round of needles took her life. Desia went silence. Veil charged the engines. ?Here we go!? she yelled. The shuttle lifted off and took to the sky. Veil was right. The ship was fast enough to maneuver past the shots from the attackers. The team looked out the window to see the EMP shockwave had destroyed the Graviton Sphere, as the structure lay crippled. They made it into orbit, where Veil frantically worked the controls. ?Hang on!? she yelled to everyone. Fighters moved in. The shuttle engines adjusted. ?Let?s gooooooo!!!? The ship started moved faster and faster, and soon the stars outside became warped blurs as the shuttle jumped into, what Marcus would call, ?hyperspace?.

Well Dredge sees it as time wasting having to blow every one of their ships up, and Tsunami just gets a sick kick out of watching them panic.
