Description

If you liked the 1982 film Tron, this is the contest for you . . .

ATTENTION ALL PROGRAMS . . . as part of the scheduled grid-upgrade, every program is to undergo an efficiency screening process. This will take place on the gaming grid. The procedure is as follows:
1> Load and run the LCtrials1_training module. Familiarize yourself with the Lightcycle controls, then beam out.
2> Load and run the Lctrials2_quickplay module. Survive, and you will avoid de-resolution. The fastest recorded time on the contest closing date will win a prize.
3> Download the Lightcycle template (there are two versions ? the Lightcycle2 is faster), and design your own custom Lightcycle. Load and run the LCtrials3_custom module to race with your own Lightcycle captain. There are no deadlines or prizes for this section, but for those more advanced programs, there is always the honour of being the fastest. You may advertise your designs on the forum.
4> Record your trials on the gaming grid (any module), and post links to your youtube videos on the forum. Stunts, fast laps, artistic camera work ? all have merit. There will be prizes for the best three entries posted before the closing date.
