Protoss Hunters are one of the representations of what the Khalai Protoss and Dark Templars can achieve when they combine their great knowledge and technology. Hunters are nimble fighters that have been seen fighting alongside the swift Phoenixes, powerful Void Rays, and shining Carriers. A common sight patrolling the upper atmosphere and perimeters of Protoss bases. Its design hails from both Aiur and Shakruras. Ion engines, khaydarin energy core, and frame owe its origins to the Khalai Protoss, while the special weapons, unique wing design, and armoring are from the Dark Templar. Although their war with the Zerg is immense, they still have the threats of the Terrans, and so they have created the Hunter with the idea of combating the nomadic species (as well as aiding them with enemies of their own kind). Hunters are outfitted with duel Ionic Shock Cannons and Photon Disruptors. These weapons have a special property to them in which they give out an EMP charge when they hit a target. In addition to the initial hit doing damage, the charge greatly upsets mechanical foes. This does additional damage to the machinery of the Terrans and other Protoss ships and mechs. What?s more is that the Hunter can release several EMP Bombs, explosives that when detonates can to massive damage to the surrounding area. The intensity of the electrical surge is so great that it can shut down any mechanical unit on the ground for a short period of time, time that can be used for reinforcements to take them out.
