Description

?All beings rule their respective domains with one of two things: real power, or illusions.? - Dylk Kydra. ~~~ In the time when the universe was still young, it was, naturally, barely populated. The few beings that existed had motivations and purposes that were either nonexistent, or beyond comprehension. However, one being changed this idea -- and the course of the universe itself -- with a single thought. The being?s name was Haliterion. Haliterion was a mysterious entity, and scholars of the Order often debate the nature of its origins and how to classify it. Regardless of those indeterminate circumstances, Haliterion was the first being to feel a certain feeling that has claimed countless minds, and that was the need for order. The reasons for this are unknown, and it is nearly impossible to be certain given the limited information available, but regardless, this idea came to be. Haliterion created what was essentially the first government, placing itself at the pinnacle and dividing the universe amongst its inhabitants. Initially, nothing challenged Haliterion, as the ideas of power and government had never been instituted before, so Haliterion?s ?subjects? had not the slightest hint of what to expect. Haliterion divided the resources of the universe amongst its inhabitants... although it seemed to keep a bit more than one share of the resources to itself. This continued for quite some time, although temporal distortions caused by the universe?s young age prevent an accurate estimate from being made. Despite this, one being chose to approach Haliterion, asking it to prove the existence of its ?power.? Haliterion had no answer for this, as, quite simply, it had no power to show. The harsh truth was that it had no real power, and only had some sort of authority because it had somehow decided that it did. Haliterion struck out at the questioner out of confusion... but the questioner was none other than a young Syghiranth, who unlike Haliterion, HAD power to show. Syghiranth struck back and crushed Haliterion with ease, destroying the first governor the universe had ever known. Shortly after doing so, he proclaimed himself to be the ?King? of the universe, as he had proven himself to be far more powerful than Haliterion. This was the first time he used his infamous title, and it wouldn?t be the last. He stated that if any being believed itself to be more powerful, it would challenge him. None did, for they still had very little sense of the definition of power. However, the King knew that the peace of chaos could not last, and it wouldn?t be long before the universe was poisoned with Order. He knew the value of true power, and understood that the advent of illusory power was on the horizon. This idea of authority versus anarchy that the King introduced was one of the first ambiguous conflicts of ideology the universe had ever witnessed, and it passed by the minds of most of its inhabitants. However, one being, an insignificant creature named Oros, witnessed the battle of rebel against government, and absorbed this idea. It gave it thought, it toyed with it, it molded it, it expanded it, it processed it, and it evolved it. The mind of Oros began to expand as it considered this idea, and transform in the process. It created complex thoughts and analyzed ideas on a level unlike anything since the King created them. A new kind of power had been birthed -- the power of thought. Oros ascended to become something entirely different, giving rise to the Voice itself -- Orotreus.
